Aqeeqah

Aqeeqah is a significant practice in Islam that holds deep religious value. It refers to the act of sacrificing an animal, usually a sheep or goat, as an expression of gratitude and celebration upon the birth of a child. Aqeeqah is commonly performed on the seventh day after the baby's arrival. This ritual serves as a way to recognise the blessings of a new life and seek Allah's protection and well-being of the child. The meat from the sacrificed animal is then distributed among family, friends, and those in need, fostering a sense of unity, generosity, and compassion within the community.
